Alexa + James got married at the Hutton House outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They’re also from the Milwaukee area like me, but they rearranged plan a bit due to covid. These two and their planner, Ashley of Midwestern Bride, found the Hutton House online, and it was a done deal. Honestly, they knew from first glance it was THE place, and they made the leap to plan an out of state wedding! All it took was looking at it once, and they made the big decision. James + Alexa’s Hutton House Minneapolis wedding was the most beautiful celebration of their new marriage.
The day couldn’t have gone better, and thanks in large part to their planner! It helps when you have a pro like Ashley coordinating the day perfectly, and Alexa + James also did a fantastic job preparing everything. As guests entered, they passed a welcome station and a schedule of the day. Seating for the ceremony was a great mix of indoor and outdoor, to accommodate the unseasonable November weather. The Midwest surprises us sometimes with some gorgeous days in late fall, and their day was unseasonably warm!
Next guests enjoyed a cocktail hour indoors and outdoors, and that included appetizers as well as drinks. I loved the elegant pairing of black and white, it was a personal touch and a nod to Alexa’s style and taste.
Every detail was along the black and white and gold theme, with a touch of minimal boho. Guests were “wow”ed with the entire day, and I was, too! I loved the inviting and personal details like their mirrored seating chart, and the elegant sitting area tucked near the grand staircase was breathtaking. Everyone could feel the love and thought put into each moment, from the dinner all the way through the dancing reception.
Alexa + James, thank you a million times over for asking me to photograph your incredible wedding celebration weekend. Congratulations and cheers to you two!
