Emily + Martin’s rustic refined wedding at Lilac Acres barn in Milwaukee, WI was a fall event to remember! Each moment of the day was planned perfectly down to the flowers and table linens.

These two have been together for years, and it showed how comfortable they are around each other! They took every chance to snuggle and be close to one another, savoring every moment of their special day. Their refined wedding at Lilac Acres was the best reflection of their personalities – laid-back yet elegant.

Rustic Refined Wedding at Lilac Acres

We started the day in the gorgeous farmhouse where the ladies and Emily got ready. It was perfectly set up to host, and the ladies had a blast there! Martin + Emily opted to have a First Look, which was lovely for photos as well as a private moment. I always love a First Look so that couples have a few minutes to themselves! A chance to read vows privately, or just soak in the view of each other.

With a First Look, they also got to do their bridal party portraits early on in the afternoon. They knew they wanted to spend as much time as possible with guests after the ceremony, so this helped them to do that! It was so much fun working with their bridal party, and everyone had a great time as we quickly worked through photos.

The ceremony was perfect, set in the ceremony barn on the Lilac Acres property. Afterwards, Emily + Martin joined guests for cocktail hour inside the ceremony barn and on the patio. Dinner and dancing was next, and all the guests seemed to have a blast, it was a gorgeous fall evening! We even got a sunset at the end for some sunset couples’ portraits, so as a photographer I was a happy camper.
