Kirstie + Matt celebrated with family and friends at their Oconomowoc Lake Club wedding day, and it was the BEST party!
Selfishly, I love hearing ceremony and reception speeches at every single wedding. Why? Because I get to hear how two people met, grew together, fell in love, and committed to each other. I get to hear the deep stuff, their relationship from different perspectives, and all the amazing details. Well, I learned that Matt had to actively pursue Kirstie when they met! He asked her out and got turned down twice before he took her on a date – and what a beautiful gift for all of us to hear that vulnerable start to their relationship (go Kirstie for being picky about giving your heart away!). Probably a more common story than we all imagine it is, since we all love to picture ‘love at first sight.’ It wasn’t immediate love; instead they had space to develop a deep friendship first. How great is that? They got to learn each other’s personalities, likes, dislikes, goals, and passions. It’s those meaningful ties that have helped them grow as adults and grow TOGETHER, and grow in love so much that they’ve committed to each other for life.
What a gorgeous, carefree-feeling day! That’s truly the best way to describe Kirstie + Matt’s day. They wanted to host their closest friends and family, and treat them all to a really fun, relaxed day, and did they EVER get that right. We had such an incredible time at their lakeside celebration, I don’t think any of us wanted the night to end!
Kirstie and Matt, thank you SO much for entrusting me with your wedding photos. It was a huge honor to be present as you start your new life as a married couple, and I can’t wait to see where this marriage journey takes you! All the love to you both!
