Brooke + Kyle had a stunning garden wedding overlooking Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, with breathtaking views of the Milwaukee skyline + Milwaukee Art Museum. Family + friends traveled from near + far, so Kyle + Brooke wanted to give them a beautiful taste of the city they call home. From the blush + navy tones, to classic + nautical styling, to the outdoor ceremony in the garden, the events of the day flowed seamlessly together and encouraged each guest to relax and take in the view.
Brooke + Kyle have the type of love that puts everyone around them at ease. The kind of selflessness that isn’t very common found anymore. I had a feeling that if the clouds had opened up and rain had fallen on their wedding day, Kyle would have immediately removed his coat and shielded Brooke without thinking twice. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case on their overcast day, and we had the opportunity to take some portraits including their favorite perspectives of the city along the shoreline + lakefront near Coast.
I’ll never forget the look of anticipation that Kyle had on his face waiting for his beautiful bride at their first look, and the way they embraced (many times) that day. With the amount of patience, positivity, and sheer love that they share, Brooke + Kyle couldn’t be a more perfect match for each other. I wish you two as much happiness, hugs, and kisses as you can fit into your lifetime of marriage! Thank you for the humbling experience of working side by side with you on such an important day of your lives.
ABOUT BROOKE + KYLE
Dating: January 2012 // Engaged: December 22, 2013 // Married: June 20, 2015
Brooke (from Kyle): loving, bubbly, great dancer // Kyle (from Brooke): funny, outgoing, thoughtful
Brooke: Special Education Teacher // Kyle: Accountant
Engagement story: (from Brooke) In 2013, Brooke and Kyle traveled to Rochester, Michigan for the holidays. On the 22nd of December, the couple took a walk through the winter night to look at all the Christmas lights. As they walked, they talked about all the great memories they had made together. Finally, Kyle got down on one knee and asked Brooke to spend the rest of her life with him. And she said yes!
Wedding style + feel: I wanted it to be somewhat nautical so I went with navy, pale pink, and stripes. Overall, we wanted our night to be light, casual, and fun which everyone noticed from the flower girls signs to dancing up the aisle to Signed, Sealed, Delivered. In addition, we incorporated some great views of Milwaukee to show the out of town guests just how great the city is.
Most memorable part of the wedding day: The dancing, everyone has told us that they had a blast on the dance floor! But I would say a close second would be the location. Everyone loved the views.
If you could change anything about the day, it would be: I would have wished I relaxed about the timing, it goes quickly either way.
Advice for couples planning a wedding: Always remember while planning it will be the best party for your family and friends; its just one day a marriage is forever.
