Year 26 has been good to me (and I can hardly believe it’s coming to an end in a few short weeks). What amazes me even more is all the things that I literally just learned about myself this year. Better now than never, right?
1. After almost 27 years on this Earth, I’ve deduced that I am a minimalist – in home interiors, fashion, design, you name it. My home is made up of an eclectic mix of mid-century modern items, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, and vintage finds.
2. I’m more type A than I would have imagined, and I’m an Enneagram 2 (with a 1 wing) — not surprisingly, 2s are called The Helper, and 1s are The Perfectionist. Lists and organization are my jam. I’ve always been a list maker and goal setter, and a believer in notebooks and notepads! I was never into taking personality tests, I wanted to simply find out on my own who I am. Its been an interesting journey so far, and I never really lumped myself into a category like that – but Type A it is.
3. I’m an extroverted introvert. What does that mean exactly? My understanding is that I’m by nature an introvert, but because of my business and work, I’ve adopted some characteristics of an extrovert simply by working with people so often – and I love that I’ve grown in that way. I enjoy spending time with friends, going out to eat, and adventuring. I’m a homebody, but also love to travel and discover new places and experiences. I find enjoyment in reading and occasionally writing, and also like networking and meeting people for coffee just to chat. Having the ability to serve others in my everyday life is such a blessing, and I try not to ever take it for granted – and I learn more as I get older how much of a big deal it is to do what I love AND serve others.
I’m looking forward to what Year 27 brings!
