If you know me, you likely know that I am not much of a morning person by nature. It’s not typically my choice to rise with the sun at 6am, BUT I do understand the importance of getting into a routine that works for me – and I’ll share some of my tips on how to conquer those morning yawns!
One // Give yourself something to look forward to. Whether it’s a cup of coffee, a morning yoga walk, or a framed quote on your wall, have something around to get you going!
Two // Take notice and be aware of what timespan(s) of the day you are most productive. Use this to your advantage! Although I’m not a huge fan of mornings, I’ve found I’m most productive from 8am-1pm on a typical day, which means I aim to wake up semi-early. Do what works for you!
Three // Create realistic goals so that you do not dread getting out of bed. I am constantly guilty of giving myself WAY too many goals or checklist items to finish in one day. Having goals is of course a great, healthy practice, but really focus in on compiling a “doable” to-do list. Don’t finish everything on your list? Me neither, very frequently. Cut yourself some slack and try again the next day!! It’s not about doing a TON in one day, it’s about taking steps EACH day to pursue your passion.
Four // Watch what you eat the previous evening. This might sound a little strange, but when you think about it, your body’s condition has a lot to do with the foods you fuel it with – if you feel sluggish, simply try to eat healthier, especially in the evening (and not over-eat: i.e. me with tacos!).
Five // Go to bed early. Might seem obvious, but most of us don’t go to bed early enough, and in turn it makes it difficult to get up in the morning. Look at it this way – the more rest you get, the more beautiful that face of yours will look :)
